With your help, I was able to raise $3,334.68 for the Jewish General Hospital!

Well, I did it… Traveled through 289.95 km of beautiful Quebec countryside, only to wake up Monday morning wishing the Ride wasn’t over. Jockeyed for position with 1450 other cyclists, and made that skin-tight yellow and black bike outfit look good! Pushed through several hours of torrential downpour on the first afternoon and went to bed at 7 pm on a Saturday night.

Almost exactly one year after Sabrina’s leukemia diagnosis, this weekend’s Ride felt like the perfect way to celebrate her winning battle against cancer. This year, she spent the Ride weekend serving lunches to hungry cyclists, but one thing’s for sure — Sabrina and I will be doing the Ride side by side next year. If you’d like to join us (and you should!), click on this link to register early, and get the reduced registration fee.

With your help, I was able to raise $3,334.68 for the Jewish General Hospital — a nice contribution towards the whopping $5.7 million that was raised in total. Once again, and on behalf of the hospital, big thanks for all your support. I couldn’t have done it without you.

According to feathersite.com:

“The incubation period for common pigeons is 17 to 19 days. The female sits on the egg from late afternoon through the night until about 10AM. The male then takes over and does the day shift. Once the eggs hatch, both parents feed the young squabs. The first food is pigeon milk or crop milk, a cheesy substance that appears in the crops of the parents at hatching time and is fed for a week or so. Then the adults start regurgitating partially digested grains for the young. By the time the squabs are ready to fly, about 4 weeks, the father is doing most of the feeding. The squabs are fed for another week to 10 days after they are free-flying.”
